though old Arbats St is much more quaint and prettier, but the new Arbats St has more restaurants to choose from.. plus, the smooth walkway allowed skateboarders to practise [we were checking out the activities on the the path that day] XD
we kinda slipped out that day cos it was pretty boring to just stay at home. plus, i woke up hungry and not in a cooking mood.. =)
a sea of coke~~ elise was studying the menu so seriously XD
salad for me and chilli chicken soup for elise. the set lunch dictates that you get either a salad or soup, then one entree and one drink from the list. the soup was really awesome =))) me and elise loved it! as for the salad, i think the dressing was just nice, not too heavy [though i would not mind no dressing either..] *salivates* i missed veggies so much!!
our entrees:
Stacked Steak Sandwich [left] for me.. and Grilled Fish platter [right] for elise. [she swapped her brocolli with half of my mashed potatoes] everything tasted awesome! at one point, we were joking that the workers probably thought we’re lesbians cos we fed each other our entrees *lolx* we were just trying the food, okay??? the fish was just nicely cooked so it kinda melted in your mouth.. i thought the steak was well cooked, but i like mine a little undercooked actually XD but the mashed potato was really good.. [and filling]
which was why we couldn’t fit in the Molten Chocolate Cake that we initially wanted to try.. we got the rave review about it from Sharon who promised us of its awesome-ness.. i think someday, i really have to go there just for dessert.. XD
my verdict: the first time i had Chillis, everything was ala carte, but even then i thought it reasonable. so for this lunch set, i rate this as cheap and worth your money!
in all honesty, we were going to slip off to Spartive to pick up the famous tarts.. but it looked like it was about to rain soon, so we got worried and decided to run over to Dunkin Donuts [a couple of stores away]
we got a box of 6 [i picked out something called ‘fairy cinnamon’ quite by accident and the apple fritters that i liked a lot.. it was a lucky thing that the guys loved cinnamon! else, i really don’t know what to do with that.. =)], elise got a couple of hearts for matt and herself.. as for me. . .
i took a can of these mini shell donuts.. they looked too adorable to ignore.. i wasn’t sure if i could’ve picked from the selection on display, so i just took one of these.. my ‘latte’ is so colourful, right?? XDDD i particularly liked the simple sugar coated one.. uhm, the cake ones not so.. *bleahhh*
what’s your favourite doughnut line? ^^
