building books

is what i was doing a couple of days back.

see, i came in possession of a whole 1.5GB of fantasy tales, in all varying formats.. heck, i even found a few i've yet to hear of, like .opg file.. whassat? *swt*

anyway, its all going to be digital anyway, and i don't want to read it all from my lappy.. that's going to be darned time-consuming, and my comp could've been put to better use by someone else in that duration. which got me thinking, i should try to putting these books into my phone..

if david figured out how, then surely i can try too.. and there goes~~
i've got matthew to thank for even coming up with an idea how to get it done at all! so thanks matt =) while i was bumbling about without a slightest clue, matt found the TCBR program.
sure, there were a few sticky spots that i had to work out myself.. [matt gave up halfway through XD], downloaded pdf, html and txt converters along the way, plus a book reader program for my phone..

which reminds me, it seems that most of the programs to 'build' such books in phones are mostly written by russians.. what does that prove: europeans really do read a lot *laughs*

and therefore, i am pretty much hooked to my phone now.. what with all the fantasy stories [complete raymond e.feist set *sigh*] in fact, i just finished Kim Hunter's Red Pavilions trilogy. not as great as portrayed in the blurbs and reviews online.. still, whatever rocks your boat eh? ^^ it is not bad, quite a bit of description of the landscapes for your imagination to work on. somehow, i cannot get that 'grand fantasy' feeling when i was immersed.
on the other hand, that should probably be good news. i was able to get my nose out of the book quite easily.

weekends along.. so,
wadcha up to this weekend? =))

its been very super sunny lately. and i just found a solution to my camera card prob~~ sunny pictures should be up soon ^^
