it has been a little busy, and knowing me, i have also been a little lazy. so if you are still reading this, thank you so much for still keeping up.
i have been feeling something at the back of my head since this morning where i was woken up to someone talking from the doorway of my room. *sigh* (Sexay patently refused to come in, or get out. he just STOOD in there with the door wide open)
ah well, it wasn't that bad, feeling like someone is pounding on your head.
it was a struggle to concentrate though it makes me pick my decisions faster than usual. the usage of gray matter at these times can really be a pain.
here's the fun part, i had anatomy MCQ and description today. i cannot say that my teacher is pleased when i opted out of my Pointing Test. but whatever.
this is what happens when i mess up my sleep cycle in a super major way. what d'you expect, i sleep, then i wake up and do homework, and go back to sleep. and along the way, add in a discussion of whether the recent events permits us to skip class today (i was woken up in the middle of the night by that conversation) i didn't skip in the end.
read something pretty meaningful a couple of days ago. its a poem, and some might call it a little morbid. but then, i have never had a problem with the discussion of death (i want to die Painlessly. that's all that i care about XD)
it is not only at the end of the year that is time for reflection. that is what i think.
so. . .
how has your year been on the overall???
p.s. to my moscow friends who are going out today, please please please be super careful! take care~~
The Dash
A Genealogical Poem
I read of a reverend who stood to speak
at the funeral of his friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth…
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard…
are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left.
(You could be at "dash mid-range.")
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile…
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy’s being read
with your life’s actions to rehash...
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?
