early days in KL..

this was composed yesterday in my uncle's house where net access is an impossible thing..

3rd January 2009
aih.. yesterday, we arrived at SS15 from Kuantan and it was such a hassle to register into my hostel.. strangely, it almost seems that the THM office is non-existant de.. i learnt a very important lesson too.. don't talk to the THM staff in English if you can help it.. like, if you want to, like, mix a few words of english occasionally into the conversation, that's fine.. but unless you feel like explaining a lot, then don't.. luckily my Mandarin is passable..(ok, my mandarin sux, frankly speaking.. but the years with my 91Gangz sure helped to improve it even if only a little.. never thought that it will come in handy le..^^)
hmm, i do have a roommate le.. why they tell me that i will be alone i don't know.. i got such a shock!! phew.. but i didn't see my flatmates that day wor.. see, i registered and 'officially' moved in already.. but, i'm staying at Unc Seong's house.. haha, am using my cousin's laptop to type this..(he's adorable!!) then, upload it later.. wakakaka.. (serious, cousin Hao's only 5, but he owns a personal laptop.. its OLD.. hahahaha..) so i will be here for the rest of today..
just attended this celebratory dinner last night at my family's ancestral home(that would be my 1st time there and the first time paying respects to them.. *blek* that's how much i go back here.. i had no idea!! whao, i didn't even know that my great-grams a true import China!! she had bound feet apparantly.. but she's gone so i can't affirm that personally..plus, she's reputed to be real tiny.. hmm.. that should explain my petite height too!! hahahaha..) apparently, one of dad's cousin's getting married.. (she's the same age as Aunty Jade and Aunty MY.. kakaka.. neither of them has gotten married yet..) anyway, yesterday's dinner was to celebrate her move to her new home(read=her HUSBAND'S HOUSEHOLD) this morning.. this is tradition actually.. so is the tradition of gifting the newlyweds with a pair of tall sugarcane plants.. to wish them a long and happy marriage wor..
tonight, uncle will take me and the family to the offical wedding dinner.. mum and dad went home this morning cos X and Q needs to register and prepare for school.. well, the thing is, i don't turn down free dinner offers, its just that i don't really know any of them there you see.. like last night, i sat there and just ate.. my dad and mum did all the minimal talking and socialising.. never mind that they are all supposed to share some kind of bloodline with me.. heck, i won't even be able to tell them apart form that stranger on the street.. that's how much i know them.. nil.. another thing, i find the amount of relatives there scary.. look, i seldom meet them..that's bad enough..but now, i have to be ambushed be hordes of them who i might add, speak mostly Hokkien which is Greek to me.. probably, the only thing i can identify with them might be our height.. some of those aunties are short too.. and the guys are all tall like bamboo canes.. wakakaka..
well, i guess, free dinner is still dinner..*evil grin* now, another problem, WHAT TO WEAR TONIGHT WOR??? i wasn't aware that i had to attend a wedding.. like, hello?!? i'm only supposed to be waiting here until Uncle sends me to college.. no one told me anything about attending a wedding!! i only brought clothes for lazing around le.. funny.. but honestly, if on one cares, i don't either wor.. will a mini skirt and T-shirt do?? sure hope yes.. hehe.. let's go and see about the dinner then..
